Awards to be Announced Thursday, January 15

The Anderson County Watershed Protection Council invites members of the community to an important press event where we will be announcing the 2026 award recipients for the Anderson County Watershed Protection Grant. 

When: Thursday, January 15, 2026, at 1:00 PM
Where: McFalls Landing, 1625 Broadway Lake Rd, Anderson, South Carolina

The event will include a brief overview of the Anderson County Watershed Protection Council, an address from Anderson County Councilwoman Cindy Wilson, and an awards distribution ceremony. 

The following entities and projects were awarded in 2026:

Clemson Extension Service - Building Spatial and Educational Infrastructure that Engages and Protects the Source Water Watersheds of Lake Hartwell and Lake Russell

Anderson County Soil and Water Conservation District - Water Quality Education & Monitoring in Anderson County

Clemson University - Community education and citizen science in the oil spill impacted Broadway Creek Watershed

Upstate Forever - Phase 3: Three & Twenty Creek Watershed Best Management Practice Implementation Project
